Clinical Psychology



Dr. Liza Ng is a registered Psychologist and a registered Supervisor of Psychology Interns.


Liza has worked with adolescents and young adults for many years.   She has worked as a researcher, lecturer as well as a clinical practitioner in various settings such as in private practice, higher education and in industry.  She was a lecturer at Monash University teaching the Master of Counselling Psychology course and still supervises Master of Counselling students on placements.

Liza has presented papers at Psychology conferences in Australia and internationally.  She has published some of her research thesis findings in journals and in an edited book.  She has also been an invited member of the Scientific Committee of Psychology conferences.  She has worked in the U.K. and in South East Asia


She has some working knowledge of Hokkien, Cantonese, Mandarin, Malay and French but does not generally conduct counselling in these languages

Liza’s counselling is often guided by psychodynamic, humanistic, attachment and mindfulness approaches and theories depending on the client’s presenting issues.  

Her counselling aims are expressed by a quote from Marie Johoda:
