We are happy to welcome new patients to our clinic. Your first visit will be a long appointment (30 minutes), to give your doctor time to review your medical history and get to know you. Fees generally range from $106.70 to $184.70, depending on the length of your appointment and the Medicare item it falls under.

Before Your First Appointment
  • New Patient Registration Form – please submit this online before your visit.
  • Bring your photo ID, Medicare card, and government concession cards to your first visit.
  • Transferring records? Please ask our friendly reception staff to assist you with a form to send to your previous clinic.
  • Monday to Friday  8am – 6pm
  • Saturday  8am – 1pm
  • We are closed on Sundays and all Public Holidays
Our standard appointments are 15 minutes and are suitable for one issue. If you have more than one concern, need extra time, or need forms completed (for example, insurance, workplace, or travel documents), please request a longer appointment when booking. Booking enough time helps ensure your doctor can address everything properly and helps keep appointments running on time for everyone.

We value your time and do our best to keep waiting times to a minimum. Occasionally, delays can happen when our doctors need to give extra attention to another patient — just as they will for you. Accidents, emergencies, and urgent matters are always prioritised, and our reception team will make every effort to let you know if there are any delays.
We understand that sometimes circumstances arise that require you to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Where possible, we ask for at least 2 hours’ notice so we can offer the time to another patient.
If you do not attend your appointment and haven’t cancelled, a non-rebatable fee will apply: $50 for a standard appointment, and 50% of the fee for long or procedure appointments. We really appreciate your understanding, as this helps us keep our clinic running smoothly for everyone.
Most test results, including blood tests, x-rays, and scans, are returned within 2–7 days of being taken.
  • Unless advised otherwise, we ask all patients to book an appointment to discuss results with their doctor. This ensures you receive the highest level of care, as reviewing results may include further investigations or implementing a treatment plan tailored to you.
  • For straightforward results, your GP may be able to send a text message if there are no urgent concerns — please ask your GP if this option is available.
  • We understand you may be eager to “get” your results but discussing them with your doctor is the best way to ensure you understand what they mean and what steps, if any, are needed next.

Our doctors will only take phone calls from patients in certain circumstances. To maintain your privacy, if they are consulting with another patient when you call, a message will be taken and forwarded to your doctor, who will contact you as soon as they are able.

Our reception staff have triage training but are not clinically qualified, so it may sometimes be necessary to transfer your call to a practice nurse.

If you contact us by email, an automated reply will confirm we have received your message and passed your enquiry on to the relevant person. We aim to provide a detailed response within 48 hours, but if your message is sent over the weekend or on a day when your doctor is not usually in the clinic, it may take a little longer.

Home visits are not routinely provided by High Street Medical Clinic. However, under certain circumstances, and by prior approval these may be provided to our regular patients within the local area if their condition prevents them from being able to attend the clinic. Should you need assistance after hours, please call our after-hours locum service on Tel: 132 660 to visit you at home. If the matter is urgent you should attend the emergency department of your local hospital. In the event of an emergency, ALWAYS DIAL 000.

For your safety and to meet our ethical and legal responsibilities, a consultation with your doctor is required for each repeat script or referral. This ensures your doctor can review your health and provide the most appropriate care.
We want to make it easy to manage your ongoing care and offer telehealth for repeat prescriptions and referrals, so you don’t always need to attend the clinic in person.
Our practice is committed to preventative health care. We have an automated recall and reminder system in place for some tests, immunisations, and review examinations where medically appropriate.  We have a system in place so that you can receive these important health reminders electronically via HotDoc by SMS or email.
